This Valentino spring summer 2013 Haute Couture collection is definitely one of my favourites to date. The embroidery, the cording, the lace, the tulle, the organza – it’s all so mystical. I could get lost in a dream world just looking at these photos.

This collection, shown in Paris and designed by Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli is called Le silence de tournesols which means the silence of sunflowers. The name is so fitting for this Haute Couture collection. The amount of work it took to create these breathtaking garments (one skirt and jacket look took 850 hours to embroider) is astonishing; however they are so perfectly made they look effortless (hence, the silence of the collection).

For those of you who are unaware, Haute Couture collections are all made by hand.  It truly is an incredible skill.
